Throughout the pandemic, faculty and staff have been charged with providing high levels of support and care to address the evolving needs of their students; However, at times when they are in need of the same levels of empathy they often afford to their students, they may be met with a lack of flexibility in their time of need. These current times warrant a different response to how we respond to the needs of ALL in our campus communities and how we take important steps to close the care loop that is oftentimes left open when considering the myriad of challenges experienced by faculty and staff. This talk will focus on addressing the following questions:
How do we make room to think intentionally about how we care for faculty, staff, and students and ensure we are closing the care loop?
How do we center wellness in the work we do every day?
How do we deal with the collective trauma and intergenerational trauma present in the lives of our colleagues and students?
This talk will be interactive and provide opportunities to engage in extended dialogues and reflection using case studies, online polling software, and breakout groups.
